Alas, Henry Davell, the last Abbot of Whitby – gaze into his mirror and… nothing but the dark remains of a broken and tortured soul. In 1539, Davell was forced to surrender the Abbey to Henry VIII in the Dissolution. He left in bewilderment, a broken man with a shattered conscience, to die insane within the year.
Intricately detailed antiqued pewter, Gothic tracery holds a dark mother of pearl disc and finished with a stunning sliver night colour Austrian crystal. On a split chain 17cm (6.7inch) each side with a 4cm (1.5inch) chain adjuster.
